Wow, have I missed you guys! I'm very impressed with your current posts. They are beautiful and inspiring. Tell me this, how do people balance a healthy lifestyle along with everything else? Exercising, shopping for healthy food, making salads, cooking fish, etc. It wears me out. Yet, I feel so much better when it's finally done. How do you cope with it all?
Since I last posted, I've been diagnosed with type II diabetes, started taking medication, lost 30 pounds, and am trying to fit in daily exercise on the stationary bike and elliptical machine. I have really grown to appreciate good doctors, and pharmacists, too. Love that Metformin! Also, I'm pretty lucky. I don't mind testing my blood. Those needles are tiny, and I hardly feel a thing.
My eldest son graduated from high school, registered for college, and began his first 40-hour-a-week job. There have been loads of birthdays, our 19th anniversary, and various holidays to celebrate. Plus, I'm at 19,000 words on my new WIP. It's a historical paranormal, and someday, I want to send it to the literary agent that I covet from afar--Holly Root.
Anyway, that's life in a nutshell for me. How are all of you?
And please, give me your secret . . . How do you accomplish so much?
Here's to a lovely summer for everyone . . .
With a bit of Simon Baker thrown in just for fun! His Mentalist character is awesome.

He looks like a good version of Jamie Oliver!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteRoxy you beautiful woman!! It's great to see your blog post pop up on my dashboard!! Yay!
Sorry about the diabetes! :-( I say forget balancing blogging blah blah blah - just get your health together!! :-) Yay!!
Hooorah for your son and your WIP!! Take care
x
Sorry about your diagnosis, but congrats on taking things seriously and dropping the weight!
ReplyDeleteMy 21-yr old is just home from 2 years in Mexico and is working 52 hours a week, prepping to go to BYU again in the Fall.
Adore Simon Baker. Almost in a repent kind of way. Love the Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteI noticed on Sunday that you looked great. Kudos on the weight loss.
Please be sure to tell me the secret of doing/having it all. I can't do it either. :)
Oh God...Simon Baker...yum.
ReplyDeleteAs for how I do it all...I don't, which is why I'm just now popping back into the blogosphere to see what's been happening. Glad to see you've taken a healthy turn and that life keeps on going with milestones, as it should. HOpe to see more of the new "less" of you :-)
Roxy, I'm still wondering how people accomplish so much myself. They're super people, I think.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been around much myself because of stuff going on but I'm so sorry to hear about your type II diagnosis. It runs in my family so I'm always weary of it. But it's brilliant that you're working so hard to manage it. Losing 30lbs! Well done, girlfriend. I wish I could lose 30lbs.
Best wishes, I'm rooting for you.
Jai
It sounds like you're holding up well and that's wonderful to hear Karen. And as for Simon, well that's one way of raising ones blood pressure,.
