(Let me translate what we read, and what WV really means.)
1. aZZiff: code for "You think that's a good comment? As if!"
2. clonkR: similar to definition #1. "Don't write this. It's a clonker."
3. VIrtus: Word Verification is now testing our Latin. And sometimes our Cantonese, German, and Lithuaninan. All at the same time.
4. cYss: this is WV's acronym for "check your spelling silly!" (I like to think it means silly instead of something more harsh like stupid.)
5. kisSle: I'm not exactly sure what kissle means. (I don't think I want to know.)
Is Word Verification treating you well, bloggers? Maybe I'm being fanciful and endowing this "spam reduction mechanism" with traits it doesn't have.
(Either way, I need to lay off the Diet Coke with lime. A little too much caffeine this morning, I think)
I agree that Blogger has given Word Verification an attitude problem. I don't know if I think it's judging me but I do think it's testing me... and my patience.
ReplyDeleteI like your definitions, though! BTW, when I saw "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," I saw a preview for a new movie with Daniel Craig. Did I think of you? Yes. :)
Blogger definitely has a mind of its own. Now, what's in that mind, I haven't a clue. But, you're right, WV's been tossing out some strange ones.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they're just running out of the good ones..?

Yesterday, I got "whiney" after I left a comment on a lovely blogger's blog er.... whining about editing/revisions.
ReplyDeleteIt's like Blogger knows... *cue twilight zone music*!!!!
Take care

ROTFL! I know exactly what you mean. I have seen some pretty funny things pop up on word verification lately. Some of it has been eerily related to the post or comment I've made!
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw Caligula in one. I think it's a snide comment, most definitely.
ReplyDeleteThis was funny.

It is fussy. I just let the comments go through with no word verification and then approve each one after. Easier that way. :O)
ReplyDeleteI had a word verification the other day that was 'tulsi'! It was like the universe was speaking to me. I felt pretty good all that day.

I want to be able to set the difficulty level for Word Verification. Somedays, I'd set it to "preschooler" with words like CAT and DOG. And other days, I'd set it to spelling bee championship level, just to be a brat.
ReplyDeleteHa! The word verifications are entertaining sometimes, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke with Lime? Weird! :)
ReplyDeleteI like ClonkR.
I've had some pretty weird word verifications lately. I keep wondering where I could put them in a book. Hee hee. =)
ReplyDeleteDare I say that I have no idea what word verification is? What world do I live in? Hello?
ReplyDeleteThat's really funny. Sometimes I save the WV because it's such a good combo of words, or sparks an idea. Here's a kissle for you!
ReplyDeletelol! Love this post Roxy!! :) Oy, that word ver really gets to me sometimes. Hope you and your family are doing well and that you're having a great holiday season! :):)
ReplyDeleteMy word verification was just guieve. Which made me think of Guenevere or gruyere cheese. Interesting. . .
ReplyDeleteROMDL Roll on my desk laughing at your post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story. Every woman would love a husband like that.
