Who is this kid, anyway, and what is his mother thinking, letting him run around without pants? Hmmm. Actually, that kid would be mine and keeping his pants on is a full time job. (Lol.)
This little man loves life. And he lives it on the edge--as much as a seven-year-old can--hugging random strangers at the grocery store and using his school's elevator during recess. (His principal does not approve.)
I wish I had some of my sons unfettered joy of life and make-believe. I'd definitely be a better writer if I did.
I raise my cup of herbal tea in a toast. Let's make today a day of exuberance and optimism. (But please, keep your pants on.)
Cheers!
LOL! I'll raise my cup to that. But I'll wear my pants. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! He is cute. You should remind him that Darth Vader wears pants ;).
ReplyDeleteI'll keep that in mind. My son keeps taking off his pants too.
ReplyDeleteOh, the giggles... :) I do love teaching 6 and 7 year olds. Sometimes we get so much pressure to teach them so much, so fast and it's sad that the nation decidedly wants an army of test-takers instead of kids whose imaginations and lack of pants (!) inspire the individuality and creativity needed to become the next Bill Gates... not because he's rich, but because he created something that didn't exist that now we can't imagine being without. Bravo to Darth Pantsless and to his mom! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers to an adorable seven-year-old who's probably going to grow into a very conservative gentleman. And, Mom, I love your sense of humor. You're a great Mommy!
ReplyDeleteCute :) And thanks for the smile
ReplyDeleteAwwww your beautiful boy is amazing!! Takes after his mum!! Yes he does!!
ReplyDeleteI raise my ginger infused herb tea and honey in both your honours!!!! Cheers!!!
Take care

That's a great picture. Letting them have some freedom to be silly and have fun is part of our job being a mother. Sounds like you're doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteMy son used to come home from nursery school, strip, put on bee wings and streak around the house. At bookstores, he'd choose a book, walk up to parent with his or her own kid and ask the person to read the book to him. And walked with me around town in various costumes (not the bee wings).
Ha! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutey! Kids are what give life spice. Looks like you might have some paprika there. :]
ReplyDeleteSooooo cute! Theres an award waitting for you in my blog btw ;)
ReplyDeleteI admire how you can make such a profound statement out of everyday happenings. I think the reason your blogs are so good is because you think in the profound. You find such meaning in everyday life. Indeed, I would say you write with exuberance. I have to confess. When my kids run around without their pants, annoyance is about as deep as my thoughts run. Cheers to you.
ReplyDeleteHey, pants are totally overrated :) I have an 8 year old, and I admire the heck out of him. I love that unbridled adventurous little soul... he has actually inspired me to write a middle grade series based on a cool idea he came up with.
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid the school would call me to tell me my son was taking his clothes off. Ironically enough, he loves elevators, too. Think there's a connection? ;)
